Contemporary art in the production of manufactured goods is expressed in three main ways, autonomous but interrelated: Arts, Design, Handicraft Art. The terminology in use today appears to be ambiguous and outdated.

Perhaps the contemporary creativity can not be attributed to historical divisions and their implicit hierarchy of values. The three systems should be considered equivalent in their time and conceptual design and distinguishable and noticeable in the manner of production, distribution and consumption that characterize them and their strategies of image and communication. Is it something else?.

Dodi De Vivi. Suggestions deco between Nature and Orient – San Barnabas Gallery – Livorno – from March 13 to April 5, 2010
