Giuseppe Bacci “Del bel tempo che fu” (good times are gone) – Fondazione del Monte – Bologna – from March 18 to April 18, 2010
More ironic that nostalgic “Del bel tempo che fu” (good times are gone) evokes, through the illustrations of Giuseppe Bacci, for over half-century painter, designer and advertising, the multiple components of the physiognomy of a city just emerged from the disasters of two wars and reconstruction, linked to its illustrious history as reaching for the future , anxious to catch up catch up with a modernity that was envisaged as promising to be exciting.
Unstoppable progress involved, renewing every field, from science to technology, to the culture. And the innumerable effects on daily life gives hope in the effective implementation of a comprehensive and shared prosperity.
The work of Giuseppe Bacci has played a mediating role and dissemination of cultural content. Through posters disclosed not only the information and products advertised on places, events and personalities who were involved, but have become familiar ways and styles of contemporary expression, contributing to the emergence of the visual culture that is characteristic fundamental, indispensable and dominant in every sphere of daily life.
The exhibition is divided into six sections, devoted to the characters of the culture of Bologna, places the “sweet life” town, the town that produces and having fun, excellent local cuisine.
