Second stage in the display program of retrospective from majors italian artits after world war II, Tornabuoni Art is proud to present a magnificent show on Alighiero e Boetti in his Parisian space.
Alighiero Boetti is recognised worldwide as one of the most important protagonists of the Italian avant-garde generation that has revolutionised and renewed the art language in the middle of the 60′s focusing on the conceptual meaning of the Art rather than on his aesthetic and narrative side. This last invention is the principal caracteristic of the Arte Povera movement, developed in Italy in the 60′s and nowadays universally recognised as one of the most innovative in the postwar art history.
This is the richest retrospective ever shown in France, including more than 60 works, chosen from the most prestigious European collections, offering a very rare chance to see the development of Boetti’s creativity from 1965 through 1994, the year he desapeared.

The exhibition is realised under the direction of Annemarie Sauzeau, Director and Senior specialist at the Alighiero Boetti Archive in Rome, inviting us to discover all the different themes of the artist work: the “mimetici” (military1967-68), the “monocromi” (monochromes, 1969-1972), the “mappe” (maps, 1972-1994), the “biro” (ballpen points, 1972-1994), the “tutto” (everything 80s-90s), the “postali” (mail series, 1970-1975).

For this exceptional show, Tornabuoni Art has produced a catalogue, always under the supervision of Annemarie Sauzeau.
