Gualtiero Nativi – Aristocracy of sign, shape and color on display in Lari – Pisa – from January 31 to 28 Feb. 2010
Lari. It opens on Sunday 31 January at 17.00 at the Castello dei Vicari, and allocating LariArte, the retrospective exhibition of paintings of the master Walter Native titled “Aristocracy of sign, shape and color.” With this new show will start the exhibition schedule of 2010 of LariArte entitled “Paths”. The creation of this latest exhibition was made possible thanks to the synergy between associations (tourism association “ViviLari” cultural association “Il Castello”, “fuoriluogo – Contemporary Art”, a periodical of information “Reality” magazine, periodical “Art in Livorno “cultural association” La Ruga “) and private sponsors – chief among them the Old Tavern at Cartel Lari – flanking larigiane long exposures and, with their contributions make it feasible and achieve various artistic and cultural initiatives . Sponsored by the Municipality of Lari and the Province of Pisa, the show is done in conjunction with the Art Gallery Nozzoli Empoli and the Archive Gualtiero Natives.
In this exhibition, curated by Filippo Lotti and Giuliano Nozzoli, Master Walter Natives, one of fathers of abstraction Italian, specifically promoter and facilitator of the movement of Florence ‘s “abstract classic” we see the importance of serious work done Pistoia artist throughout his life, from the arts to quality that, without exception, all his works.
“Of the Native – says Lotti – I was always attracted to the purity and cleanliness of his artistic work, its pure geometry, harmonics and asymmetries of the endless combinations of form and not least, its colors.”
An exhibition that pays homage to the artist but also an ideal tribute to Florentine art throughout the postwar period, tied to a different conception of art and having produced so far, of what to do – often silent – which remained, through maturity and seriousness of work in the annals of art history.
There are more than thirty works on show, mainly drawings and tempera on paper, on a path that follows a chronological order starting from the mid forties up to the late nineties, works spanning a large gap on the arc artistic creative Native with nearly sixty years of work. There is the art of Walter Native figurative drawings from the Tuscan-saturated, leading to a painting of European aristocracy still retained in the groove of painting that has marked the whole spectrum of artistic master Pistoia.
Works that testify to its varied iconographic type. And here, in this way, that unravels in the rooms of the Castello dei Vicari, we can see, year after year, much of its production. Exhibition catalog.
The inauguration will be taken up by Toscana TV for the TV show “Encounters with Art”, the program designed and conducted by Fabrizio Borghini.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors, admission free, until 28 February.
