“Dal tappeto Antico all’Arte Contemporanea” (From antique rugs to Contemporary Art) Fuutou: Textures traveling – Florence – from January 14 to 13 Feb. 2010

Showroom Alberto Boralevi, in the ancient Palazzo Frescobaldi, in the heart of Oltrarno, in 11 S. Spirito in Florence, is home from 14 January to 13 February, a small exhibition dedicated to the meeting between art and the world of contemporary textiles antique carpet.

Life, they say, is the art of meeting… and art is a continuous encounter of different ideas that are transmitted between cultures that may seem too far apart but if they can always find the points they have in common. Since ancient textile art has always traveled in a continuous exchange between cultures on the trade routes that led from East to West and vice versa. Plots in this trip will also be a tribute to the encounter between distant cultures that is constantly renewed through the ancient art of weaving.
