LARGE CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS IN “RESIDENCE SANTA CHIARA” COLLECTIVE EXHIBITION – VOLTERRA – FROM December 16 2009 to January 7 2010

When art reveals the radical force of its communicative potential and opens new doors, where the border between normality and discomfort that becomes unstable, in the territories of mental and emotional expressiveness free and pure, you trace the outline of events that cross issues not always complement of daily life.
This is the case of the show, scheduled at the facilities of the nursing home “Santa Chiara” of Volterra (PI), a large group, opened December 16, 2009, in progress throughout the Christmas period (until 7 January) and has the participation of established artists in the world of contemporary arts, engaged in creating works inspired by the characteristics of the site and the profound social significance of the initiative.
Motivated by the energy and organizational work of the educator Donatella Cheli, more than positive feedback from the world of the arts of space, the idea of a production that goes to animate a new stimulus in itself tends to rise at the margin.
Walls that come alive in color and shape, which is directed to a voice from behind the walls of the withdrawal, “where the same courage to” look even less what we like “lyrical content becomes more of an aspect of the course of existence When the message passes through the universal language of art incontrovertible.
“One of the functions that the educator is to play within a RSA” says educator and organizer Donatella Cheli “is that – specific – of ‘activator of resources’.” And this “particularly with respect to personalization and embellishment of the environment inside the structure, find resources means looking to the area and involve the community in a project that will serve to make known the reality of a” small world unto itself, often not considered and little known. “Specifically, for guests of the Residence initiative represents a way of” not to feel excluded from their territory of belonging, “but” to be the guiding principal and not forgotten. ”
And Donatella turned directly to the artists, recording a very broad participation and a feeling that characterizes the initiative of the profile of an event together art and social.
“I seek the cooperation of all the local artists that I knew,” he says, with the idea that each of them could create a work conceived and carried out exclusively with the mind turned to this world, “environment” a po’al out of life for most of us. ”
After concluding the exhibition open to the public, “the works will remain just inside the residence, place of living in those areas most used by visitors and their operators.”
