Daniele-Gay

From 2 October to 2 November 2009 will be visited at the Gallery of Florence Falteri staff Daniele Gay entitled Mapping Impossible.

20 watercolors of the master Piedmont, anchored to the pictorial representation of reality but inspired by imaginary places, evoking the tradition of seventeenth-century capriccio landscape. Quoting the title of the exhibition, a personal cartography impossible though allusive places dear to him: Spain, Croatia, the mountains of his native Piedmont.

After the 2002 and Watercolors Tauromaquia of 2006, Daniel Gay confirms collaboration with Galleria Falteri with this third exhibition.

Despite the unusual choice of subjects, Daniele Gay twists at the same time the development of landscape composition and the technique itself dell’acquerello. Paradoxically, the choice of saturated colors and bright image returns the sense of true, a whirlwind of colors and a jumble of signs in the observer touched the keys of wonder and a vibrant celebration of memory. At one time his technique very original and revolutionary dell’acquerello leaves adjourned the question: “but how will that be? ….”

Danel Gay, born in 1960, lives and works in Torre Pellice (TO). Since 1985 taught engraving techniques at the Accademia Albertina in Turin. His consecration took place in 1980 to Florence in the exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi with the presentation of Ragghianti and Carluccio. E’oggi one of the greatest Watercolourist Italians.
